Voices of War – Men of the North is a low-voiced male choir sample library designed for Viking-themed media, featuring a wide array of ambiance, atmosphere, drone, pad, legato, word-building, and texture patches.
Recorded at the MGM Scoring Stage at Sony Pictures Studios, this library utilizes Old Norse vocabulary related to war, nature, and the gods, offering a distinct departure from typical faux Latin word builders.
The collection provides an ambient tribal/cinematic color, focusing on a half-voiced, reserved singing style perfect for pads and drones, capable of carrying word-based melodies with a strong mezzo forte.
It includes special attention to a true blended tone, with morph patches featuring long vowel morphs and a wordbuilding engine that automatically generates Norse phrases without extensive user effort.
A unique feature is the KU100 “Fritz” microphone setup, designed for immersive 360º audio perspective, making it particularly suited for video game composers and headphone use.
The library offers various mixes including Tight, Dragonborne, Head (binaural KU100), and Full Spectrum and is scripted for Native Instruments’ NKS format.
