The Crow Hill Co. Release Crystal Pianos

The Crow Hill Co. have released Crystal Pianos, available for $99.00.

Crystal Pianos is a new sampling instrument developed by The Crow Hill Company, inspired by a scene from the 1974 film “Dark Star” where hammers strike bottles and glasses.

Utilizing a technique called “Shepherd Mapping,” the instrument allows for the creation of chromatic instruments from single resonating objects, in this case, 18 different glass objects.

It offers five distinct playing styles and a “partial mixer” to control sonic characteristics like fundamentals, harmonics, and transients.

Recorded in Gorbals Sound Studios, Crystal Pianos aims to provide unique sonic textures for music production, distinct from traditional instruments like the celeste or glockenspiel.

Crystal Pianos is available to PC and Mac users (VST2, VST3, AU and AAX).
