The Synth have released SpiceLab, available for $44.99.
Generative synthesis meets analog warmth. Evolving sequences. Euclidean rhythms, and Markov melodies – designed for iPad musicians and producers.
SpiceLab is a generative synthesizer for iPad – a musical instrument that plays, evolves, and surprises you.
At its core is a polyphonic analog-style synth engine with dual oscillators. a resonant dual filter, two ADSR envelopes and two LFOs Exponential envelope curves, filter saturation and oscillator drift give it the warmth and character of vintage hardware
What makes SpiceLab different is its generative engine. A 16-step sequencer with Euclidean rhythm generation, Markov-based melodic evolution and a bounded mutation engine lets you create patterns that evolve organically over time. Four macro controls – Mutation, Density, Chaos, and Memory put the generative behavior at your fingertips.
A per-destination modulation matrix lets you route any source to any knob or fader – long-press a control to assign LFOs, envelopes, velocity, mod wheel or randomness. Colored arcs animate in real- time showing exactly how each modulator shapes the sound.
SpiceLab works as a standalone app with its own on- screen kevboard or as an AUv3 instrument plugin inside Logic Pro for iPad and other compatible hosts,
Synthesis
- Dual oscillators (sine. saw. square octave, fine tune. and mix

- Two ADSR envelopes (amplitude + filter) with analog-style exponential curves
- Two LFOs (sine, triangle, random
Poly, mono, and unison play modes with
glide
Modulation Matrix
- 2 mod slots per destination – assign via radia picker on long-press
- 8 sources: LFO1, LFO2, Filter Env, Amp Env, Mod Wheel, Velocity, Aftertouch, Random
- 21 destinations: filter cutoff. resonance. oscillator levels, drive, LFO rates, envelope times and more
- Animated color-coded arcs on knobs and bars on faders show modulation range in real-time
