Emerging in the early ’90s, trip-hop etched out a new niche between hip-hop, electronica, dub and soul. With magnetic hooks and hypnotic, dark and suggestive melodic layers, it slowed tempos down and put cinematic atmosphere at center stage, expanding on its roots in boom-bap and dub-infused grooves.
For this EZkeys MIDI pack, we explored each dimly lit corner of the genre to create a collection that captures a cross section of its signature traits. Expect mesmerizing melodies, melancholic chords and sticky motifs – all ready for you to drag, drop and pair with your favorite sounds. In total, ten “songs” are included, organized in folders labeled A, B and C, each featuring four Themes and matching Pads sections so you can easily run multiple EZkeys instances and build the evocative sonic landscapes that define trip-hop as we know it.
