Fine Increments Update Wavefield

Fine Increments have updated Wavefield, still available at the intro price of $39.00, increasing to $49.00 after the promotion. The offer ends June 13th.

What’s new version 1.0.4:

  • Input monitoring / audio passthrough – In transport-linked mode, input monitoring now stays open while your host’s transport is stopped. The wavetable freezes at its last position and your live input passes through the frozen spectral shape. Click mitigation was moved from the buffer stage to the internal processing stage.
  • A more versatile KF Gate – I refined the open/close transitions so the KF Gate handles a wider range of material.
  • Smoother tempo sync, everywhere – Tempo sync now respects the Transport Linked toggle, so you can free-run at your host’s BPM in live hosts without depending on transport position. Wall-clock catch-up also keeps playback locked in time when your host pauses processing between notes.
  • Less license friction – more flow. Enter your license in one plugin instance and every other open instance unlocks instantly – no more restarts.
  • In-app documentation link – There’s also a new “?” button in the status bar that opens the online docs right from the plugin.

Wavefield is a filter modulation plugin that uses animated wavetable frame shapes to carve your audio’s frequency content in real time. Morph continuously through 128 unique shapes per wavetable – from subtle surface motion to dramatic sonic mangling. A sound design tool that creates spectral motion that traditional EQ and filter automation can’t replicate.

Fine Increments built Wavefield because they wanted an effect that didn’t exist: the ability to continuously modulate a filter in complex ways that resemble the surface of water. The result is complex filter fluctuations, formant movements, and spectral evolution that traditional EQ and filter automation can’t replicate.

Each wavetable contains 128 unique spectral shapes that map to the frequency spectrum. As Wavefield plays through frames, your audio is filtered accordingly – creating animated harmonic evolution impossible to recreate with static EQ. Two processing modes: 1) Clean EQ/Filter style shaping and 2) Dramatic spectral convolution.

Depth controls the strength of the effect. Floor pulls the frequency cuts deeper. Skew shifts the shaping toward lows or highs. Phase changes the starting position. Wavetables can be trimmed, or position pinned to one frame for manual control. Safe Bass keeps the lows unaffected, and Stereo splits the shaping between L+R for mono-compatible width.

Automate wavetable position with the built-in LFO, or lock playback to your DAW’s tempo and beat divisions. Create rhythmic slow evolving textures, rippling tremolos, or anything in between – all synced to your session. Plugin chain latency offset control included for keeping tempo sync aligned when Wavefield is not the first or only plugin on a track.

Forward, Reverse, Ping-Pong, and Random. Each mode changes how Wavefield moves through the wavetable frames, giving you different flavors of spectral motion from smooth cycles to unpredictable variation. X-fade feature smooths the wraparound.

Design your own spectral movements without leaving Wavefield. Draw waveforms in manually, set keyframes, copy/paste frames, drag to reorder, and adjust phase rotation – all in a visual editor that shows exactly how each frame will shape your frequencies. Keyframes can be step sequenced and gated. Waveform presets included.

Use the included factory presets or import any .wav file, including wavetables from your favorite synths. Design custom spectral movements in external tools, or grab a random audio file, and load them into Wavefield for frequency shaping that’s uniquely yours.
