Chih Han Lin has updated GranSample, available as a FREE download with an in-app purchase that locks the Pro version. The update is FREE to existing users.
What’s new in version 1.2.1:
- iPad Landscape:
- Most-asked-for feature since 1.2 shipped Pads stretch larger than a hardware MPC; recorder, properties panel, and sequencer sit in a dedicated right column instead of stacking. Same engine, same Pro tier – just spread out for the way iPad musicians actually hold the thing. Portrait still works exactly as before.
- AUv3 fixes:
- Pro purchases made in the standalone app now propagate to the plugin without needing to relaunch your DAW. (Previously the extension only checked entitlements at instantiation, so freshly-bought pads stayed ocked until the host restarted).
- MIDI Settings is now reachable from inside AUv3 extension – pitch-bend range, per-pad reachable the pad channels, sustain behavior all editable without leaving the host.
- Small fixes:
- Onboarding now scrolls correctly on Phone 8 / SE 3rd gen instead of clipping the Get Started button.
- Master FX guide step now points at the actual Master FX icon instead of the entire top bar.
- Sample editor’s GRAN preview is properly disabled with an overlay when granular isn’t on for the pad.
- GRAN knobs in the iPad Properties panel fill the panel width instead of crowding to the left.
- FX editor opens as a half-sheet so you can see what you’re tweaking while it’s open.
