- Staff Notation with Melody Notes — Long-press the staff to add melody notes; the top note is automatically reflected in the Voicing Panel
- Voicing Panel — Right-click a region to explore triads containing the selected note, along with nearby alterations
- Scale Lookup — Cmd+Click (Ctrl+Click on Windows) a region to view the chord in different scale contexts and parallel modes
- Swing & Humanize — AKAI-style swing for 8th and 16th notes directly from the toolbar
Tilt – Discover the hidden connections between chords.
One thing Kobito noticed about great songwriters like Stevie Wonder or Herbie Hancock is that their chord progressions often move in ways that aren’t obvious from traditional music theory.
NeoChords is a small tool I built to explore that kind of harmony.
Instead of only thinking about chords as fixed blocks, Tilt helps you look inside chords, reveal the hidden triads within them, and experiment with new bass notes to discover fresh harmonic colors.
This simple idea opens the door to unexpected chord movements that still sound musical and connected.
The framework behind Tilt is actually a big part of my own songwriting process. It helps me avoid getting stuck in familiar patterns and often leads to surprising harmonic directions I wouldn’t have found otherwise.
Many people describe this kind of thinking as modal interchange, and while that’s partly true, Tilt lets you explore harmony in a way that is much more flexible and intuitive.
Tilt is designed as an exploration tool — a place where you can play with harmonic ideas and discover chord movements you might not normally think of.
Tilt lets you:
- Display diatonic chords from different scales and modes
- Reveal hidden triads inside chords
- Experiment with changing triad quality
- Add new bass notes to create unexpected harmonic colors
- Discover neo-soul / jazz-style chord connections
- Quickly explore harmonic ideas without getting stuck
Perfect for:
- Songwriters
- Producers
- Jazz / Neo-Soul harmony exploration
- Breaking out of repetitive chord progressions
- Anyone curious about modern harmonic movement
