Mercury1 is a software simulation that distills the spirit of a legendary early American tube amp into its most expressive form: a single-channel design where everything is driven by your hands, your guitar, and your touch.
At the heart of Mercury1 is a beautifully voiced gain structure that moves effortlessly from pristine, glassy cleans to smooth, singing overdrive. It reacts to your picking dynamics and guitar volume with remarkable sensitivity—roll back for clarity and sparkle, dig in for rich harmonic saturation and fluid sustain, perfect for lyrical lead playing inspired by timeless expressive tones.
Two distinct inputs are not just different levels, but feature independent input circuits with their own gain structure and feel. The input 1 delivers full sensitivity and saturation potential, while the input 2 offers more headroom, a tighter response, and a cleaner overall character.
Mercury1 also features a built-in reverb, carefully tuned to complement the amp’s natural voice. From subtle ambience to deeper spatial textures, it enhances your tone without overpowering its character.
The cabinet section includes three distinct speaker voicings and two cabinet configurations: a focused, immediate 1×12 loaded with a C90 speaker, and a more expansive 2×12 setup featuring two complementary speakers—a CL80 for smooth, creamy lead tones and a legendary ALT for a beautifully open top end.
The 2×12 can be used in both open-back and closed-back configurations, each offering a unique tonal character. The open-back design delivers a wider, more airy sound with enhanced spatial dispersion and a softer low-end response—ideal for clean tones and expressive, room-filling textures. The closed-back option, on the other hand, provides a tighter, more focused response with greater low-end punch and projection, making it perfect for high-gain tones and articulate lead work.
