Mike Gazzaruso Releases Chromosonic – For IPadOS & MacOS

Mike Gazzaruso has released Chromosonic, available for $22.99.

A synthesizer where sound has a genome. Sculpt a living double-helix by touch, watch every gene breathe, and describe a sound to have an on-device Al build it for you.

Chromosonic is a synthesizer where every sound has a genome – and you sculpt its DNA with your hands, Built first and foremost for iPad. it turns sound design into something you can touch, see, and play.

Your instrument is a real-time,Metal-rendered double-helix. Notes ride the strands: seven “aenes” – timbre, brightness, resonance, attack, release. echo and space – reshape the helix as you drag them. Tap a note to switch it off, drag it to change its pitch, drag a gene to morph the tone. The whole organism responds under your fingers.

Double-tap a gene and its modulation atoms bloom around it – depth, shape, rate. Every gene gets its own LFO: free-running or tempo-synced to note divisions, plus a true sample-and-hold. Dial it in and watch the gene pulse and alow on the helix while you hear it move. No menus. no patch cables – a living, breathing patch,

Type a sound in plain words – “warm evolving pad, sliaht reverb” – and an on-device Al sequences the entire genome for you, then names it, Fully private; nothing you type ever leaves your device.

A generative, scale-locked sequencer improvises melodies that mutate and evolve. Scramble the genome, evolve a patch, breed new organisms into your own library. Feed it MIDI and it weaves your ideas in.

A wavetable oscillator that morphs from clean analog through organ and vocal formant to a wavefolded digital edge. A vintage tape echo that glides the pitch when you change the time, like a real machine. A near-infinite cathedral reverb, and optional glide.

Run Chromosonic as an AUv3 in your Mac’s DAW, hit Link Host, and vour iPad locks to the DAW’s transport – tempo, play, stop – over Wi-Fi Zero-lag, phase-locked, any DAW. Your iPad becomes a living modulation surface beside your desktop rig.

Note: Genesis (the Al composer) runs on-device and requires a recent iPad with on-device Al support. All other features work everywhere.,

  • Standalone app and AUv3 plug-in
  • 50 factory organisms across ten families
  • iPad-first, landscape, made for touch
