Analog Productions have added 2 new public betas for everyone to check out and test. Acess to the betas via an email request. Please report any bugs and suggestions – your feedback will be appreciated. Below are what’s currently available to test from Analog Productions.
Tape Saturation
The sound of tape — warmth, harmonics, and hiss, with the levels handled for you.
Tape Saturation models the full behavior of a reel-to-reel machine — the saturation, the harmonic richness, the soft compression, and yes, the hiss. Switch between three classic tape formulas and three machine speeds (7.5, 15, and 30 IPS) to move from subtle, polished glue to thick, driven saturation. Shape the tone with Drive, Warmth, Bias, and Flutter, dial in as much vintage hiss as you like, and watch it all on dual IN/OUT VU meters and a built-in scope. Smart Auto Gain matches output to input automatically, so you’re always judging the tone — never fooled by a jump in volume.
Features include:
- Three selectable tape formulas (456 / 499 / 911) and three speeds (7.5 / 15 / 30 IPS)
- Drive, Warmth, Bias, Flutter, and Hiss controls
- Dual IN/OUT VU metering plus scope, phase, and correlation views
- Smart Auto Gain for honest, level-matched A/B-ing
- Full preset system with import/export
Vise
Vise is a Class-A FET compressor built for character. Pick your ratio — 4:1, 8:1, 12:1, 20:1, or the aggressive all-in ALL mode — and blend continuously between Vintage and Modern voicings to go from smooth and musical to fast and biting. A complete detector section with an external sidechain input, response and threshold controls, and a sweepable sidechain filter lets you shape exactly what the compressor reacts to, while parallel Mix, mid/side and stereo-link options, an onboard Tone/harmonic stage, and up to 4× oversampling make it as much a finishing tool as a coloring box. The oversized analog gain-reduction meter and GR history keep you connected to every move it makes.
Features include:
- Class-A FET design with a Vintage ↔ Modern character blend
- 4:1, 8:1, 12:1, and 20:1 ratios, plus an all-in ALL mode
- External sidechain with response, threshold, and a sweepable filter
- Parallel Mix, M/S and L/R processing, and stereo link
- Built-in Tone / harmonic drive stage
- Up to 4× oversampling, A/B compare, presets, and a large analog GR meter
McManiak
McManiak recreates the unmistakable grit of classic 12-bit samplers. Flip between SP and S950 modes to capture two distinct flavors of vintage crunch, then pull down the sample rate and bit depth to summon aliasing, grime, and that gloriously degraded sampler sound. A resonant filter (Cutoff and Resonance), Drive, and a wet/dry Mix take you from a light dusting of texture to fully obliterated, while the glowing rate and bit readouts and a live sample-and-hold display keep the whole thing tactile and hands-on. (The name’s a wink — it’s “inspired by Kris McManus.”)
Features include:
- Two emulation modes: SP-1200 and Akai S950
- Adjustable sample rate and bit depth for variable aliasing and crunch
- Resonant filter with Cutoff and Resonance
- Drive, Mix, and Output for parallel-style blending
- LED rate/bit metering and a live sample-and-hold display
The plugins are available to PC and Mac users (VST3 and AU).
