Ujam have released Retrocraft, available for $49.00.
Retrocraft is a retro effects plugin that transforms piano chords, vocal loops, or drum beats into beautifully imperfect tracks with character.
Ujam’s brand-new power tool pairs analog amps, tape machines, vinyl players, and speaker simulations with six modern FX modules for sound designers and producers. It combines the capabilities of industry-standard retro plugins with modern multi-effects for any kind of improvement, from subtle analog character to complex sound design. Practically any kind of vocal or instrument can be made better with Retrocraft.
Retrocraft’s effects chain starts with three vintage stages: Amplifier (tube, transistor), Player (cassette, vinyl), and Speaker (megaphone, telephone). Each stage adds its own drive, noise, and character, and together they create a texture machine that turns any bland audio or MIDI clip into a vintage-vibe recording.
Retrocraft features six additional effects, each with six sub-effects that let you further “de-hance” your sounds. The Lo-Fi module adds digital distortion, crunch, or even otherworldly ring modulation to the signal. And with the effects in Instability, you’ll get that melancholic vibrato, as only old tape machines and record players can.
Create subtle movement and stereo width through Chorus, Flanger, and Phaser effects in Modulation, and give your sounds depth and size through six different delay and reverb types. If all of this made your sound a little too tame and washed out, the Chop effects offer six glitch variants that bring groove and rhythm back into the game.
Features include:
- Analog gear chain: Amplifier, Player, and Speaker emulations
- Six multi-effect modules: Lo-Fi, Modulation, Instability, Delay, Reverb, and Chop
- 62 effects algorithms
- 150 production-ready presets for instant inspiration
- Endless supply of fresh Presets via “Surprise” dice
- For musicians, vocalists, producers, engineers, and beatmakers
