Glitchwork is a focused FM Grid percussion instrument built for sharp glitch hits, broken digital pulses, modular-adjacent rhythm patterns, and cinematic micro-percussion.
At the center is a continuous two-dimensional FM Grid. Move through it to find metallic ticks, dusty transients, clean pitched blips, gritty broken sines, short FM bursts, and unstable rhythmic fragments. Each step in the sequencer can remember its own grid position and sound settings, so patterns are not just triggers. They become sequences of timbre, movement, decay, pitch, probability, ratchets, and tone.
Glitchwork is not trying to be a traditional kick/snare/hat drum machine. It is a small, focused instrument for designing the kind of percussive details that make electronic music feel alive.
What’s it do?
- Continuous FM Grid engine for glitch percussion and short-form FM sounds
- 16-step sequencer with per-step sound memory
- Trigger, probability, pitch, velocity, gate, ratchet, morph, and grid lanes
- Key and scale controls for pitched percussion patterns
- Grid Scan movement for animated timbral drift
- Performance macros for Stutter, Ratchet, Gate, Scatter, Impact, Echo, Flip, Width, Degrade, and Texture
- Built-in Plate and Hall space section
What’s it good for?
- Glitch percussion
- IDM and experimental rhythm programming
- Ambient pulse patterns
- Modular-style generative sequences
- Cinematic texture beds
- Digital ticks, clicks, bursts, and fragments
- Percussive layers that sit between drums, synths, and sound design
