Quiet Music have released MotionTones, available at the intro price of €18.00 / $20.55, increasing to €35.00 / $39.97 after the promotion. The offer ends July 23rd.
MotionTones is a generative music instrument that uses a real-time 2D physics engine where falling and colliding balls trigger notes, allowing users to create evolving soundscapes by drawing shapes and gravity fields.
The instrument features 25 built-in ambient instruments, 62 scales (many inspired by handpan tunings), and a chord library, with options for custom scale and chord creation, and reference tunings including 432 Hz and Solfeggio frequencies.
A ‘Bounce’ engine provides tempo-synced cinematic balls that generate rhythmic patterns and arpeggios, complementing the free-falling balls with structure and groove, and includes a customizable step-grid arpeggiator with Euclidean rhythm generation.
Users can further shape the sound with an internal reverb, echo, per-source controls, note-range and anti-repetition settings, and a natural ambience layer, alongside visual customization options for the canvas, balls, and tones.
MotionTones functions as a standalone instrument or can integrate with DAWs via MIDI input for spawning balls and MIDI output for controlling other instruments or capturing generated sequences, and comes with 65 factory presets for immediate use.
MotionTones is available to PC and Mac users (VST3, AU and standalone).
