Fracture Sounds have released Trails II, available at the intro price of $112.00, increasing to $149.00 after the promotion.
Alexander Parsons returns for another collaborative project, this time exploring metallic sounds and resonances.
A collection of instruments transformed through metallic resonance, combined in this toolkit of woodwinds, synths, and percussion, alongside both our Layer Blends and Granular engines.
Keeping with his tradition of experimentation, during a recording session for a documentary score, Alexander combined a trumpet resonating against a gong to produce something otherworldly – a sound that feels unrecognisable, yet familiar.
This became the founding principle of Trails II: exploring how resonances can transform sounds. From brass and woodwinds to analogue synths and a rare percussion instrument sampled for the first time, it’s a full toolkit of sounds capable of injecting a unique quality into your scores, crossing the disciplines of music and sound design.
Recorded in a small dry studio in the heart of London using close, room, and experimental contact microphones alongside curated pedal chains, Trails II offers a specific yet expansive sound palette — with new innovations to the Granular and Layer Blends engine, new tools, and 19 new Atmosphere Layers, a signature of Fracture Sounds’ libraries.
If you’re seeking something contemporary at the intersection of electronic and traditional orchestral music, look no further than Trails II.
