Big Listen is a dedicated A/B referencing plugin designed to streamline the mixing and mastering process.
The Core Concept: Big Listen allows producers and engineers to load up to six reference tracks alongside their active mix, switching between them with a single click.
- Intelligent Loudness Matching: The MATCH function automatically trims the reference tracks to match the exact perceived loudness of your mix. This eliminates volume bias, ensuring you make objective decisions based on tone and balance rather than sheer loudness.
- Continuous Dual Metering: Visual meters for both your mix and the reference remain live during playback. Metering metrics include:
- LUFS, True Peak, and Loudness Range (LRA)
- Crest factor, Peak-to-Loudness Ratio (PLR), and Peak-to-Short-Term-Loudness Ratio (PSR)
- Dual frequency spectrum analyzer (with the reference curve overlaid)
- Goniometer and phase correlation meter
- Monitoring controls for Mono, Side, and Difference signals
To balance detailed analysis with session performance, Big Listen features two distinct operating modes:
- Poser View: A comprehensive dashboard that displays all metering and analysis tools on one screen for deep-dive checks.
- Pro View: A streamlined, distraction-free interface that turns off background analysis engine processes to significantly reduce CPU usage during heavy mixing sessions.
