Tunary Instruments Release Reheat

Tunary Instruments have released Reheat, available at the intro price of $39.00, increasing to $49.00 after fhe promotion.

Every music producer knows the feeling: you have a killer drum groove, but when it comes to laying down a compelling bassline, inspiration hits a wall. You either end up playing the same basic root-note pattern or wasting almost an hour manually editing MIDI. Enter Reheat, the generative bass tool from Tunary Instruments designed as “a writing tool that happens to make sound.”

Rather than generating chaotic, pseudo-random sequences like typical generative plugins, Reheat composes like a human bass player. It writes a one-bar thematic riff and intelligently applies it across realistic chord progressions—complete with chord tones on the beats, natural passing notes, and chromatic turns. The result is an actual musical hook rather than a computer guessing notes.

While Reheat includes an onboard synth for real-time monitoring, the MIDI is the main attraction. Once it writes a pattern you like, you can drag and drop the MIDI directly into your DAW to drive any hardware synth or virtual instrument in your library. Coupled with a sidechain input that locks phase directly to your host’s kick drum, Reheat seamlessly fits any workflow.

Features include:

  • Type: Generative bass instrument & MIDI writer plugin / standalone application
  • Genre Grooves: 10 built-in genre styles (Acid, Hip Hop, House, Tech House, Trance, Techno, Drum & Bass, Dub, Disco, Electro)
  • Harmonic Engine: Supports 6 chord progressions, 5 musical scales, and all 12 keys
  • Pattern Lengths: Flexible step resolution (8, 16, 32 steps, or custom lengths)
  • MIDI Export: Direct drag-and-drop MIDI export to any DAW track
  • Dynamic Sidechaining: Audio sidechain input locks pattern phase directly to your kick drum
  • Rhythmic Metering: Adapts to any time signature or host meter settings
  • DAW Sync: Full synchronization with host tempo, transport, and time signature

Reheat is available to PC and Mac users (VST3, AU and standalone).
