What set the original hardware apart was its hybrid preamplifier circuit, and Nembrini has recreated this dynamic faithfully. The Bass 3500 allows you to independently blend two distinct preamp stages:
- Tube Preamp: Adds organic warmth, mild harmonic saturation, and a smooth compression ideal for vintage tones or laying down a fat groove.
- Solid State Preamp: Delivers razor-sharp clarity, fast transient attack, and clean punch that ensures your low end cuts through dense mixes.
Beyond preamp blending, tone shaping is front and center. The front panel features a 10-Band Graphic Equalizer spanning from 30 Hz to 8 kHz with ±15 dB of gain, giving you surgical control over frequency bands. Dedicated Contour controls (Low Pass around 100 Hz and High Pass around 10 kHz) let you quickly scoop mids or balance extreme highs and lows without destroying your core tone.
An onboard Compressor with visual LED feedback keeps transient spikes under control, adding weight and sustain to fingerstyle or picked bass lines.
Nembrini Audio didn’t just model the amp head—they built a complete, end-to-end bass rig environment inside the plugin:
- Modular Pre-Amplifier Stomp Effects: Put extra flavor before the amp head using four drag-and-drop stompboxes: a Noise Gate, Envelope Filter, Octaver, and Modern Tubes Drive. Because the pedalboard is fully reorderable, you can experiment freely with signal routing.
- Cabinet & Recording Chain: Choose from four modeled bass cabinets and four studio microphones with fully adjustable placement and tweeter controls. Parallel D.I. processing and three selectable room ambience environments let you blend direct punch with room space.
