Immanent Audio have released Spectral Agent 2, available for $25.00.
What’s new in version 2:
- Negotiate Mode: A brand-new “zipper merge” interaction mode designed for equal-priority tracks (e.g., two rhythm guitars or backing vocals). Instead of forcing one track to yield to another, Negotiate Mode gently nudges both tracks apart to create space without picking a single winner.
- Ducking Mode: An ultra-low latency ducking envelope optimized for fast percussion transients. Delivers ~4ms detection at 60Hz with no lookahead—getting faster than 3ms anywhere above 100Hz.
- Slidable Dynamic EQ Bands: Upgraded dynamic EQ bands equipped with per-track knob multipliers for precise, flexible frequency shaping across the spectrum.
- Master/Yielding/Negotiating Groups: Features controlled priority groups alongside 3 custom groups. Includes per-group knob multipliers designed specifically for DAW automation and quick batch modifications.
- Refreshed Graphic Interface: An overhauled GUI with improved precision visual feedback, making it easier to monitor local inputs, remote track spectrums, and post-processed data in real time
Mixing a dense multitrack session can feel like a game of audio Tetris. Between overlapping acoustic guitars, thick synth pads, and competing basslines, achieving punch and clarity usually means spending hours setting up complex sidechain routing and manually tweaking dynamic EQs.
Spectral Agent 2 builds upon the praised unmasking engine of Version 1, elevating it into an intelligent full-mix ecosystem. By establishing a lock-free internal network across up to 64 instances, Spectral Agent 2 automatically detects and resolves frequency collisions across your entire mix—no tedious manual sidechaining required.
The fundamental shift in Spectral Agent 2 is moving away from static broad cuts in favor of dynamic, relationship-based processing.
When you place instances of Spectral Agent 2 across your DAW session, they automatically communicate in real time. Rather than carving out permanent holes in your audio, a Yielding track deploys targeted dynamic notches only when a Master track’s dominant frequencies collide with it. As soon as the lead track stops playing, the notches release instantly, giving the background track its body and natural resonance back.
With the addition of Negotiate Mode and specialized Ducking Mode, you now have complete control over how tracks interact—whether you are making space for a lead vocal over a heavy synth pad or keeping kick and bass glued together without losing punch.
Features include:
- Up to 64 Interconnected Instances: Automatic cross-track communication without requiring traditional sidechain routing.
- Three Interaction Modes:
- Master: Sets the lead track priority.
- Yielding: Dynamically carves out space when a Master collides.
- Negotiate: Equal-priority mode that nudges competing tracks apart.
- Transient-Responsive Ducking: Ultra-fast detection sub-4ms at 60Hz (sub-3ms above 100Hz) with no lookahead needed.
- Weighted Priority Algorithm: Intelligently allocates up to seven hysteresis-controlled notch slots plus a dedicated Bass slot to prevent Yielding tracks from being over-processed when competing against multiple Masters.
- Acoustically-Tuned Envelopes: Attack and release scale automatically across the spectrum to prevent artifacts across both low-end sub frequencies and high-end air.
- Slidable Dynamic EQ Bands: Equipped with per-track knob multipliers for surgical control across specific frequency regions.
- Granular Per-Pair Controls: Independent tuning for specific track interactions, including Depth (0–12), Q (0.5–8.0), Sensitivity (0.2–4.0), and Attack & Release multipliers (0.1–8.0×).
- Flexible Grouping & Automation: Master/Yielding/Negotiating groups plus 3 custom groups with per-group knob multipliers built for DAW automation.
- 80-Band Log-Scale Analyzer: Real-time visual feedback showing local input, remote track spectrum, post-processed output, and DSP-accurate collision markers.
- Low CPU Overhead: Lock-free audio callback with heavy FFT analysis offloaded to background threads for high track counts.
