Librewav Release Modern Bodhrán – For Rhapsody Player

Librewave have released Modern Bodhrán, available at the intro price of $35.35, increasing to $47.00 after the promotion.

The Modern Bodhrán sample library offers a contemporary take on traditional Celtic frame drums, featuring four unique bodhráns with distinct sounds and characters, meticulously recorded to provide natural variation for organic performances.

Each drum was sampled with five unique tones, captured using three different sticks at three dynamic levels, with each tone recorded by five microphones, including separate up and down strokes, and six repetitions for each variation.

This extensive recording process resulted in over 2000 samples, performed by Marissa Waite and recorded at Gran’s House Studio in Scotland, offering 36 recorded variations for every tone.

The library includes five different hand positions for each drum, plus rim shots, and allows for real-time switching between three sticks via keyswitches, with up and down strokes mapped to separate keyboard regions.

The included on-screen mixer provides three channels for balancing the mono ribbon microphone, front stereo pair, and rear stereo pair, while 22 MIDI loops of various Celtic rhythms are provided to aid in composition.

The four featured bodhráns include a 16″ drum by Seamus O’Kane, a 14″ Martin O’Neill Signature model by Christian Hedwitschak, a 13″ drum by Steve Forman, and a 13″ drum by John Wilson of Skye Bodhráns.

Modern Bodhrán requires Rhapsody 3.2.0 or later.
