Parish Audio Release Parametric Compressor

Parish Audio have released Parametric Compressor, available at the intro price of $34.97, increasing to $69.95 after the promotion.

Parametric Compressor gives you direct control over where compression happens in the frequency spectrum.

Instead of dividing the entire signal into fixed crossover bands, each compressor band can be placed independently. Choose the frequency you want to control, adjust the width of the affected region, and set the compression behavior with dedicated Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, and Makeup controls.

Bands can be narrow and focused, broad and gentle, or widened all the way to full spectrum for traditional broadband compression. Because each band operates independently, multiple bands can overlap freely without forcing the rest of the spectrum into separate sections.

This makes it easy to control specific areas of a sound without changing everything around them. Tighten the low end of a drum bus, reduce buildup in the low mids, smooth an aggressive upper-mid range, or use several overlapping bands to shape the dynamics of a complex signal.

Each band also includes flexible detector controls. The compressor can respond to the main signal, an external sidechain, or both, and the detector can listen either to the selected frequency region or to the full spectrum. This lets you independently choose where compression happens and what causes it.

The interactive spectrum display keeps the workflow visual and immediate. Add bands directly to the graph, move them across the spectrum, adjust their width, and see how each area is responding while you work.

With up to ten independent bands, global Mix and Output controls, and full-spectrum operation available whenever you need it, Parametric Compressor can handle everything from a single targeted problem area to detailed multi-band dynamics control across an entire mix.

Features include:

  • Place independent compressor bands anywhere in the frequency spectrum without dividing the entire signal with fixed crossovers.
  • Overlap bands freely and give each region its own Threshold, Ratio, Attack, Release, and Makeup settings.
  • Choose whether each compressor band responds to the main signal, an external sidechain, or both.
  • Separate detection from processing by letting a band respond to either its selected frequency range or the full spectrum.
  • Use up to ten bands for focused frequency control, overlapping dynamics, or full-spectrum broadband compression
