Turn your music into moving visual content directly inside Ableton.
FLUX is a Max for Live audiovisual engine designed for producers, DJs, performers, and content creators to generate reactive visuals directly within Ableton Live, allowing users to transform their music into moving visual content without leaving their primary music workflow.
The engine supports loading up to four independent image or video sources, with options to blend them in real-time, automate various parameters including source mix and knob levels, and utilize multiple creative visual modes such as WAVE, NOISE, and FRACTAL.
FLUX offers advanced control over visual composition through features like REACT for driving the engine from audio, ZOOM for abstract detail, and the Fragment Mixer which allows different source regions to enter the composition based on frequency activity, further shaped by SIZE, SOFT, and MOVE parameters.
For seamless integration with streaming and recording workflows, FLUX can output its final visual composition directly to OBS through Syphon on macOS, and users can select from 16:9, 9:16, or 1:1 aspect ratios for content-friendly output.
While optimized for still images, FLUX also supports video files, and for demanding setups, especially those involving OBS/Syphon, a minimum of 16 GB RAM and a capable GPU are recommended for optimal real-time performance, with a note that FLUX currently requires manual reloading of source media upon reopening Ableton Live Sets.
