Recorded live at the award-winning The Verdict Jazz Club, Tristan Banks – Jazz Drums is a unique collection created by Tristan Banks for Loopmasters, delivering an authentic collection of expertly performed jazz drum loops spanning traditional swing to modern fusion.
Featuring 400+ live-played loops across tempos from 75 BPM to 280 BPM, Tristan Banks – Jazz Drums captures the feel, dynamics, and improvisational energy of a real jazz performance in a world-class listening room.
Performed by Tristan Banks using a Gretsch Brooklyn kit in classic bebop sizes with vintage 1950s and Artist Vault Zildjian cymbals, every loop was recorded with meticulous attention to tone, space and musicality. Styles include Swing, Bebop, Shuffle, New Orleans grooves, Latin Jazz, Bossa Nova, Jazz Funk, Fusion and an extensive selection of expressive brush performances.
Tristan Banks has built a reputation as a knowledgeable, versatile and authentic world-class drummer and percussionist throughout a 35-year career as a recording artist, touring musician and session performer. Over the years he has worked with an extraordinary range of internationally acclaimed Grammy Award-winning and Platinum-selling artists including Roy Ayers, Steve Winwood, Brian May, Van Morrison, Ronnie Wood, David Gilmour, Beverley Knight, Marcos Valle, Mayra Andrade, Lewis Taylor, Terry Callier, Alexander O’Neal and Joe Lee Wilson among many others. As a touring artist, he has performed at many of the world’s most prestigious venues and festivals including Madison Square Garden, Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Glastonbury Festival, WOMAD, Love Supreme Jazz Festival and We Out Here Festival.
Since 2021, Tristan has also been curator and venue manager at The Verdict Jazz Club, helping revive one of the UK’s most respected independent jazz venues following the global pandemic. Under his direction, the club has hosted leading UK and international artists and received widespread recognition within the contemporary jazz scene. In 2023, Tristan released his critically acclaimed debut album View From Above, blending jazz, Latin jazz and fusion influences through virtuosic performances, cinematic textures and deeply melodic compositions.
