Parish Audio Release Aethon

Parish Audio have released Aethon, available at the intro price of $34.97, increasing to $69.95 after the promotion. The offer ends September 14th.

Aethon is a Granular Transformation Engine designed to turn familiar sounds into evolving textures, rhythmic pulses, drifting atmospheres, reversed fragments, and entirely new sonic spaces.

Some sounds need to be shaped. Others need somewhere new to go.

Aethon takes the audio already moving through a track and breaks it into small fragments of sound, allowing those fragments to drift, pulse, scatter, reverse, overlap, and recombine in real time.

A simple synth can become a slowly moving atmosphere. A sustained chord can dissolve into a cloud of grains. A melodic phrase can become a synchronized rhythmic pulse, while vocals, guitars, drums, and other sources can be fragmented into textures that remain connected to the original performance while moving far beyond it.

Aethon can remain subtle, adding movement, dimension, and space while preserving the identity of the source. Push it further and the same audio can become synchronized pulses, reversed fragments, grain clouds, drifting washes, or completely reorganized textures.

Longer grains, gentle Drift, stereo Spread, and smoothing can introduce movement without obscuring the original sound. At more extreme settings, shorter grains, Jitter, Reverse, Position, Density, and Feedback can pull a performance apart and allow its fragments to move independently through time.

At the center of Aethon is a continuously recording capture buffer. Position allows the granular engine to reach backward through recent audio, while Jitter and Drift loosen grains from their original locations and let them move through the captured material.

The Freeze function stops new audio from replacing that captured material while processing continues. A single instant can therefore remain suspended while Aethon continues transforming it into new textures.

The Grain Engine provides control over Size, Rate, Density, Position, Jitter, Drift, Reverse, Spread, Width, Feedback, Smooth, and Capture length. Grain timing can run freely or synchronize to the host tempo, allowing rhythmic transformations to remain locked to the session.

A separate Finishing FX section provides high-pass and low-pass filtering, Color, Motion, Diffuse, Space, stereo Width, Mix, and Output controls. These stages allow the granular signal to remain clean and recognizable or move into hazier, wider, more distant and atmospheric territory without requiring a chain of additional effects.

Aethon includes a collection of factory presets ranging from subtle movement and atmospheric enhancement to grain clouds, synchronized pulses, reversed textures, deep spaces, and experimental sound design.
