Toontrack have released LA Sessions SDX, available for €179.00.
The LA Sessions SDX is a new expansion for Superior Drummer 3, meticulously recorded by industry legend Niko Bolas, featuring nine distinct drum kits.
Niko Bolas, with a four-decade career shaping seminal works across various genres, brings his expertise to this expansion, realizing his vision of the ultimate drum sound.
The recordings took place at The Village in Los Angeles, a legendary studio that has hosted artists like The Rolling Stones and Lady Gaga, utilizing three key locations within Studio D: the piano area, the studio floor, and a riser.
Additionally, selected kits were placed in a sealed-off vocal booth to provide a contrasting sonic flavor, with extensive microphone arrays capturing every detail, including the resonance of the studio’s grand piano strings.
The expansion includes drum kits personally owned by renowned session drummers such as Kenny Aronoff, Steve Jordan, Denny Fongheiser, Charley Drayton, Anthony LoGerfo, Russ Kunkel, and Stella Mozgawa.
The resulting sound palette is versatile, suitable for genres ranging from subtle jazz and acoustic pop to rootsy singer-songwriter and edgy rock, offering a broad range of tones.
The LA Sessions SDX also comes with a collection of tailored MIDI patterns and 45 mix-ready presets engineered by Niko Bolas himself, enhancing its usability for producers and musicians.
