Designed around a deceptively simple premise—taking a single note or chord and stretching it into a slowly evolving sonic universe—REVE Model 1 strikes a rare balance between vintage analog warmth and playful, modern performance controls.
At its core, REVE Model 1 features a fully realized, subtractive synth engine built to generate rich, harmonic raw material:
- VCO & Source Mixer: Includes a multi-octave Voltage Controlled Oscillator (16′, 8′, 4′, 2′) with manual or envelope-controlled Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). The mixer allows you to blend Saw, Pulse, Noise, and a switchable Sub-Oscillator (-1 or -2 octave options) for heavy low-end weight.
- VCF & VCA: A dedicated filter covering 20Hz–20kHz with resonance, envelope depth, key follow, and its own filter LFO. The VCA can run on standard ADSR envelopes or a continuous Gate mode.
- Modulation & Arpeggiator: A versatile LFO offering Triangle, Square, Sample & Hold, and Noise waveforms to modulate filter or pitch. The onboard Arpeggiator features Up, Down, and Up-Down modes across 1–4 octaves, complete with a Hold (latch) function so soundscapes can sustain indefinitely while you tweak controls.
While the synth engine provides the body, The Echo gives REVE Model 1 its soul.
Instead of acting as a standard slap-back or subtle delay effect, the echo module is designed as an interactive looping instrument. With delay times reaching up to 4 seconds and feedback (Repeat) that extends to infinite sustain, you can feed a brief phrase or arpeggio into the delay buffer and watch it morph.
As the echoes repeat, the sounds layer into dense, ambient drones, dark cinematic textures, or meditative sound-bath background tracks. To keep these compounding loops from destroying your speakers or clipping into harsh digital distortion, the app incorporates a built-in output limiter featuring threshold, ceiling, and gain-reduction metering.
Designed specifically for touchscreens, REVE Model 1 moves away from rigid digital keyboards:
- Expressive Touch Interface: The touch keyboard supports smooth glissando, letting you slide across keys rather than just tapping individual pitches.
- Performance Tools: Includes a pitch bend lever with independent VCO/VCF sensitivity and adjustable portamento (glide) time.
