Vanity Lite is automated plugin designed to streamline this final polishing stage without forcing you to wade through complex technical controls.
At its core, Vanity Lite acts as an intelligent, lightweight mastering assistant. It listens to your audio in real time to evaluate tone, dynamic range, transients, and stereo width. Instead of applying static presets, the engine calculates custom profiles tailored to your song’s unique characteristics. It works great on the master bus, but you can also run it on vocals, drum groups, or instrument stems to add quick clarity and control.
Using the plugin takes just three simple steps. First, place Vanity Lite at the end of your signal chain, making sure your mix leaves roughly -10 dB of headroom. Next, hit the Learn button and play a representative section of your song so the engine can analyze its balance and movement. Finally, press Finish to generate four tailored options and choose the sonic character that best serves your track.
These four generated profiles cover a wide range of styles. Profile A (Full Body) adds low-end warmth and weight to sparse tracks. Profile B (Punch & Energy) sharpens transients and accentuates rhythm. Profile C (Loud & Open) maximizes volume while keeping the high end wide and airy. Profile D (Clean & Balanced) delivers a transparent, neutral response that polishes your track without altering its fundamental tonal balance.
Keep in mind that Vanity Lite is built to enhance rather than repair. It cannot fix severe mix issues like clipping, masking, or wildly unbalanced faders. However, when fed a clean, well-proportioned mix, it reliably provides that extra layer of polish, glue, and commercial volume needed to finalize your release.
