Initial Audio have updated Difro Melody AI, available for $49.00. There’s also a FREE ‘lite’ version to download.
What’s new in version 1.1.0:
- Multiple generations, one click – Free generates 2 at once. Pro generates 4. Preview each and pick the best — fewer clicks to the melody you want. GPU device mode is recommended if available; multiple gens can take longer on CPU.
- SourceLab Player UI – The built-in SourceLab Player now has a UI with a simple browser and macros. Presets can still be selected from the current menu.
- Bookmark generations – Store MIDI you like without dragging it out. Add categories to keep them organised, and open the bookmark folder on your hard drive when you want the files.
- Open model folder – Right-click a prompt model card and choose Open model folder… to jump straight to its MIDI files and add or delete from there.
- Better prompt model wizard – Creating your own prompt models is cleaner and faster

Here is how it actually helps your workflow when beat block strikes:
- Live Play or Drag-and-Drop: Hit record and play a rough key idea directly into the piano roll, or drag in a MIDI chord progression you already have.
- Re-Imagine on the Fly: Tweak the creativity slider to dial in how far you want the AI to push your idea, generating fresh bar-by-bar variations instantly.
- Host Your Own VSTs: You don’t have to audition melodies through a trash preset. Load Serum, Kontakt, or Omnisphere straight inside Difro to hear variations played through your actual patches.
- It Learns Your Style: Rate generated loops with a quick thumbs up or edit the notes yourself before liking them. Difro builds a local “User Model” that learns what you actually like over time.
- Seamless Export: Drag the new MIDI or a rendered WAV loop straight into Ableton, FL Studio, Logic, or Cubase.
