Airteq is a physically modelled sound design instrument. Crafted for composers, sound designers and musicians looking for organic movement, evolving acoustic-like atmospheres and entirely new textures while remaining grounded in the underlying physics of air, pipes, and resonance.
Based on the well established physical modelling knowledge of the Modartt team, coupled with the recently developed technology of Dynamic Aerophone Modelling (DAM), Airteg offers new ways of shaping sound. It turns airflow into a creative parameter, allowing musicians to continuously control, modulate and transform the wind supply of each virtual pipe in real time.
With the feedback of Modartt’s open-beta team (100+ people), Airteq was envisioned so that every movement influences the sound as it happens, from subtle acoustic-like variations to unpredictable experimental textures. Unique instruments can be built from several families of virtual pipes, offering a palette of timbres as well as different ways to respond to the airflow modulation, and sketching a surprisingly large sonic universe between cinematic atmospheres and exploratory soundscapes.
Airteq creative starting realism comes with more than 170 carefully crafted presets designed to dive into the instruments possibilities: evolving pads, cinematic textures, organic airy sounds, rhythmic pulses. A rich point to tweak, transform and save variations, while keeping an organic feeling of physical realism.
Airteq is designed to transform every gesture into expressive air modulation or pulses. The intuitive MIDI assignment workflow allows to capture, map and interpret available controls as velocity pitch bend, aftertouch and continuous CCs from keyboards, MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) devices, breath/wind controllers, and more.
