Soundiron Hopkin Instrumentarium: Flat Gongs is a specialized virtual instrument library featuring a three and a half octave set of custom aluminum disks created by master instrument inventor Bart Hopkin.
The instruments are designed for Kontakt, offering unique percussive sounds ranging from mallet strikes and knocks to rubs and scrapes, with two microphone positions for detailed audio capture.
Each gong is tuned to provide clear, unambiguous pitches in octave relationships, resulting in an ethereal and dreamy tonal quality across a range from C2 to G5.
The library includes 7,126 unlocked WAV samples, 60 ambient pads, and 21 Kontakt presets, utilizing up to 8x round robin and 8 velocity layers for high musical realism.
Users have extensive sound-shaping control via an intuitive GUI, including automation-ready parameters for articulation, spatial panning, and a modular FX rack with 27 DSP effect modules.
