The Canvas Audio Flint Dynamic Limiting Amplifier is a no-compromise peak limiting compressor with a very unique design. Taking into account a musically fast fixed attack, the adjustable release speed can really shape this compressor from wild and agressive, to transparent and powerful.
With just a small set of features, Flint packs a massive punch. The compression knob does almost all of the heavy lifting, and sometimes just loading it up does the trick. However if you need just a bit more control, the Input and Output alone can push the compressor into overdrive, making it grittier and more aggressive. An adjustable Release Mod screw helps to re-inject life into your tracks if they are feeling a bit too punched. An additional Lookahead circuit adds a touch of softness to initial peaks, allowing for the smoothest extreme compression you’ve ever heard.
Flint’s surrounding UI packs a few treats as well, such as sidechain hi-pass filtering, mix control, and a very well dialed Lo-Fi control, perfect for that telephone vocal effect. There is also 4x oversampling and metering, along with a preset menu where you can save your favourite settings or pick from a selection of amazing artist presets.
