Korneff Audio have released Sound Techniques Alpha Range Channel, available at the intro price of $64.99, increasing to $129.99 after the promotion.
The Sound Techniques Alpha Range Channel is a digital channel strip plugin that models the legendary Sound Techniques consoles used for iconic recordings in the late 1960s and 1970s.
Originally founded in 1964 by Geoff Frost and John Wood, Sound Techniques produced pioneering British recording consoles until the company ceased operations in the mid-1970s.
The brand was revived by Danny White between 2014 and 2016, leading to the release of new hardware and eventually this digital collaboration with Korneff Audio in 2026.
The plugin features a component-level model of the original preamp, offering unique saturation characteristics, as well as an inductor-based two-band equalizer that includes a ‘Pultec Trick’ high-end boost.
A modern VCA-based ‘ElektraComp’ compressor was added to the design to meet contemporary DAW workflow demands, providing both easy-to-use parallel processing and advanced parameter control.
The software includes a summing bus emulation to capture the full sonic breadth of the hardware, along with customizable back panel controls for tweaking amplifier circuits.
