Ocean Swift have updated DevOcean Modular, now only €129.99, (usually €199.00).
What’s new in version 1.2:
- The update adds thirty-five modules, headed by a complete MIDI effects section – Chord Generator, Scale Enforcer, Strummer, Random Notes, MIDI Delay, Velocity Processor and Humanizer – which operate on note data rather than audio.
- A second group unbundles functionality that previously lived inside larger multimode modules. Compressor and Limiter, Bracket EQ, RBJ Multimode Filter, the AD, AHD and ADSR envelopes and the Display family are now also available as single-purpose modules, carrying fewer controls to wire and to expose.
- The Capsule Manager, which lets a builder give any patch a custom front panel and compile it into a shareable .osmodule file, gains sprite and font skinning, hyperlink labels, styled input and output labels, and exposable XY and sample views that can act as drop targets. The release also includes performance work across undo, the browser and canvas polling, plus new tutorials and factory content.
Dev Ocean Modular is a fast-forward modular synthesis and sound design environment, offering an infinite canvas for developing complex instruments from simple ideas.
The platform features a deep, modern module library including wavetable and FM voices, additive banks, supersaws, physically-modeled strings, granular clouds, studio-grade reverbs and delays, nine filter families, and unique sources like shortwave radio and live market data.
Signal flow is visualized with pulsing, color-shifting cables, enhancing user understanding of the patching process, and a browser with tagging and search functionality aids in organizing and finding modules and presets.
An integrated AI assistant named MaYa, powered by Claude, acts as a collaborator, reading patches, wiring modules, troubleshooting sounds, and explaining synthesis concepts.
Dev Ocean Modular operates on a highly optimized bare metal C++ DSP engine, providing a pristine, low-latency modular canvas with a user-friendly interface and exceptional audio quality.
The system supports custom module creation through DSP and MIDI scripting, allowing users to build their own modules and integrate them seamlessly into patches, alongside a VST3/AU bridge for DAW integration.
The software is offered unlocked in Demo Mode, providing full access to the instrument and module library without crippled features or watermarks, encouraging users to explore its capabilities before purchase.
