Audio Damage have updated Circa Looper, available for $89.00 (desktop) and $7.99 (iPadOS).
What’s new in version 1.2.0:
- NEW
- Circa is now a standalone app as well as an AUv3 plugin. Choose your audio interface, sample rate and buffer size, pick the input pair, send each of Circa’s seven outputs to any output pair on your interface, and select a MIDI input. Sync to incoming MIDI clock, with a beat indicator in the top bar.
- LFOs. Any of the 30 modulation slots car now be an LFO instead of a MIDI mapping. Seven shapes (triangle, square, sine, saw, ramp, random and random walk), free- running or tempo-synced, with rate, phase and level. Several can stack on one destination.
- Slice number is a modulation target. A controller or an LFO jumps the play head from slice to slice.
- Hold slice on, off and toggle: loop the slice the play head is in until you let go,
- Filter frequency, resonance and type are now MIDI and modulation targets.
- Save while recording. Saving during a layer’s first take captures everything so far as a finished loop, and the take keeps going.
- Slice presets: tap 0, 4, 8 or 16 above the slices knob.
- Set the CC value that triggers momentary MIDI functions, in Settings.

- Arispeed is dramatically cleaner: no aliasing at raised speeds, smooth band- limiting at lowered speeds, and no zipper noise sweeping through normal… …
- Recording at other speeds gets the same upgrade.
- A layer waiting for the next bar now pulses, so you can see it is armed.
- Slice jumps count the slices you see in the waveform display.
- With Host Sync on, stopping the host’s transport now stops the layers.
- The background gradient no has longer banding issues, and costs less CPU to draw.
- FIXED
- Long recordings are stable, with no more crashes during long takes or dropouts after undoing a long loop.
- Undo restores overdubs exactly, every time.
- Loop seams crossfade properly wherever the markers sit. in reverse. and on overdubbing lavers.
- Changing the sample rate no longertruncates loops.
- Scrubbing, speed changes and direction changes are clean: no ticks, pitch slides or silenced layers.
- Exported loops respect the start and end markers.
- The reverb no longer freezes, low bass is no longer attenuated, and recording from the internal buss is true stereo.
- Many more fixes to Env to Speed, gestures, erase and MIDI hold mappings.

- Multi-Layered Looping – Circa has six layers that can operate independently or in sync with each other and/or the host. Circa can record from the stereo input, or self-record via an internal buss for interesting feedback possibilities.
