Frontier functions as a self-adaptive versatile limiter capable of handling everything from transparent peak control to aggressive, character-driven saturation.
At subtle settings, it acts as a clean mastering tool, gently catching rogue amplitude peaks to prevent digital clipping without crushing your mix’s natural dynamics. Push it harder, however, and you can leverage its diode-like soft clipper to add warmth, thickness, and crunch to individual tracks, synths, and vocals. Thanks to its built-in self-adaptive gain makeup, it automatically normalizes signal volumes after the limiting stage—speeding up your workflow and saving your monitors from sudden volume spikes.
Features include:
- Self-Adaptive Gain Makeup: Automatically normalizes output volume post-limiting so you don’t have to constantly readjust levels.
- Optional Soft Clip: Engages a diode-like soft clipper to cut peaks past 0dB, introducing saturation and wave-shaping capabilities.
- Configurable Control Input: Allows advanced routing inside your DAW, letting you use it creatively as a mono ducker using specific sidechain channels.
- Controllable Release Characteristic: Fine-tune how the limiter recovers for smooth, musical dynamics control.
- Tag-Based Preset Browser: Quickly search, save, and recall your favorite settings across projects.
- MIDI Learn Support: Easily map hardware controllers to plugin parameters for hands-on adjustments.
- HiDPI / Resizable UI: Modern, clean vector-based interface that scales smoothly to fit any display
Frontiers available to PC and Mac users (VST2, VST3, AU and AAX).
