Rob Papen has released Quad-2, available for $49.00. There’s an upgrade deal – check your account.
Quad 2 is a 16-voice virtual synthesizer that utilizes Phase-Distortion and Wave-Shaping synthesis techniques to deliver a wide variety of sounds.
The instrument features two oscillators with extensive modulation options, including Ring Modulation, Frequency Modulation, and a ‘String’ model for enhanced sound design.
It offers 43 distinct filter types and 11 special filter modes, which can be routed in various configurations like serial, parallel, or morphing paths.
Users have access to a comprehensive modulation matrix with 12 slots, 200+ destinations, and support for both MIDI and internal modulator sources.
The synthesizer includes a powerful arpeggiator with up to 16 steps, velocity control, ratcheting options, and various playback modes for complex sequencing.
Additional tools such as a ribbon controller, three serial effects slots with 48 types, and a built-in bank manager provide flexible performance and organizational capabilities.
The original QUAD was the first Rack Extension synthesizer built from the ground up for Reason and was later released as a VST3/AU/AAX plugin. Now, QUAD-2 takes a new move by updating the user interface and adding some great new features like the creative Ribbon Controller, Filter Types, FX, and much more!
The unique sound sculpting tools start in each Oscillator and are the Phase Distortion and WaveShaper. These tools are brought to life by two XY-Pads in each Oscillator, which can be moved through an extensive modulation matrix, or by the newly added Ribbon Controller.
QUAD-2 Filter modes are expanded, including the Albino-3 Legend Cream Filter. The ARP now also includes Ratcheting and a Free row, which is great for controlling the Oscillators’ XY fields!
Of course, Quad comes with a Stereo Tape Delay, Top-Notch Reverb, 11 Modulation FX like Chorus and TalkBox, 33 Distortion FX, Equalizer, and an FX Filter!
Last but not least, there is a bank manager for the 1200+ presets.
