VOLTRA Synth by Another Machines: dark hybrid synthesis for techno and cinematic sound, with Wavetable, Resonator, Motion Filter and 32-step sequencing.
VOLTRA Synth by Another Machines is a dark hybrid instrument for techno, cinematic electronic music, evolving movement and modern sound design.
Two analog-style oscillators provide hard sync, wavefolding, ring modulation, unison and drift. A dedicated Sub/Noise section adds weight and texture. The Digital Engine switches between Wavetable and Resonator: scan 139 factory wavetables or shape physical resonant bodies with material, damping, decay, spread and excitation controls.
Eight filter models – LP24, LP12, BP, HP, Notch, Comb, Analog and ZDF – move from deep low-pass weight to acid resonance, comb textures and animated sweeps. Amp, Filter and Aux envelopes handle precise dynamics, while the multi-segment Motion Envelope creates looping and evolving shapes.
Four tempo-aware LFOs, Macros, Chaos, velocity, pressure and the modulation Matrix connect movement across the instrument. Drag compatible modulation sources directly onto controls for fast assignments, or build detailed routes in the Matrix.
Motion Filter combines filtering with tempo-synced movement, envelope response and a live display. A complete effect chain includes Drive, Bitcrusher, Chorus, Delay, Reverb, Compressor, Pump, EQ, Phaser, Flanger, Limiter and Shifter.
Create rhythmic material with the arpeggiator, Scale tools and a 32-step sequencer. Send Notes turns the sequencer into a note generator, while Value, Pitch, Octave, Velocity and Gate lanes shape each pattern. Euclidean generation, probability, ratchets, swing, rotation and per-step control support everything from compact techno loops to cinematic pulses.
Explore 238 factory presets spanning sequences, basses, bleeps, acid, percussion, resonant tones, dark atmospheres, impacts and cinematic textures. A free 22-preset expansion is included in the internal Store. Search Factory, User and Expansion libraries, save your own sounds, import and export presets with the Files app, and work across four interface skins.
VOLTRA runs as a standalone instrument and as an AUv3 Instrument inside compatible hosts. Core synthesis, preset generation and audio processing run locally on the device. No account or internet connection is required for core operation.
