Pine DSP Release Blox Rack

Pine DSP have released Blox Rack, available at the intro price of €49.00, increasing to €79.00 after the promotion.

Blox Rack’s six effects – EQ, Comp, Chorus, Reverb, Delay, Exciter – are also available individually as separate plugins to load and run in a DAW for license holders of Blox Rack.

Mixing with a rack of plugins is a mostly great workflow, but when it comes to EQ, the vertical format can’t offer you a speedy way to edit bands precisely or a view of the frequency spectrum running through it. That’s why we added a pop-out horizontal panel to the top of Blox Rack – it acts as a context-sensitive view, helping you stay in the moment for EQ, modulation and precision ducking.

Modulation is on-hand from four LFOs, an Envelope Follower and an XY pad, which can be routed to practically any control throughout the plugin. Six Macros are also available, with all presets coming pre-mapped to a few macros for instant playability.

Blox Rack ships with 500 presets spanning from creative ideas to mixing engineer staples.

Blox Exciter

Three modes of distortion: Reel, Glass and Ember. Air control for high-frequency emphasis built to play nicely with transients. Hysteresis and Bias controls available in Reel mode for tape character emulation.

Blox EQ

Built to meet professional needs within a small space, Blox EQ can be controlled directly from the horizontal upper panel in Blox Rack. Cmd/Ctrl and Opt/Alt modifiers deal with Q settings and band solo. Each band can be set to Mid or Side mode alongside the default stereo. Blox EQ features the same High Pass, Low Pass, Shelving, Notch, Band Pass and Bell filters you’d expect on an EQ.

Blox Reverb

Size, Decay, Damp, Tone, Pre-Delay and Modulation controls to customize your reverb sound. A Freeze function for holding the reverb in stasis. Duck setting dips the wet signal when a new dry signal plays, with more precise control over ducking Depth, Threshold, Attack and Release, and a spectrogram, in the advanced window (top panel).

Blox Delay

Normal, Ping Pong and Diffuse modes give three types of delay behavior, and a Wash mode to animate diffuse repeats. Choose from a range of delay times and sync to the host tempo. Duck setting dips the reverb signal when new input audio reaches a Threshold. Set the ducking Threshold, Depth, Attack and Release in the top panel for Blox Delay.

Blox Chorus

Set the Spread, Tone and Character of a three-stage chorus effect. Rate and Depth controls customize the chorus response. Choose presets from flange to wobble.

Blox Compressor

A classic compressor with three modes: Smooth for transparent compression, Punch for more characterful, analogue-style compression and Clamp for a tighter response . Blox Compressor has sidechain input, sidechain high-pass, and a Knee control that smooths the curve around the Threshold point.
