Lewis Gareth K Le Val has released Ambient Architect, available at the intro price of $8.99, increasing to $12.99 after the promotion.
IMPORTANT: Ambient Architect does not produce sound and does not operate as a standalone instrument. It must be loaded as a MIDI effect inside an AUv3-compatible host, such as AUM, and connected to other instruments to be heard.
Generate music for films that do not exist.
Ambient Architect is an AUv3 MIDI instrument for dark ambient music, cinematic underscore and slowly evolving composition.
It gives you an ensemble of eight independent parts. Assign each one a role such as Drone, Harmony, Bass, Melody, Fragment, Pulse, Texture or Dust, then route its MIDI output to any instrument you like. Every role has its own musical purpose and its own set of controls.
The sixteen play pads steer the harmony. They are not simply chord triggers. Choose a direction and Ambient Architect develops a progression around it, with each role responding in its own time. Move gently between neighbouring pads or jump across the panel to send the piece somewhere new.
Choose a key and scale, then decide what kind of harmonic world you want to work in. Modal stays close to the key, Descent falls away from home Suspended creates open movement, and Fracture reaches towards more distant, unsettled chords.
The music continues to develop while it plays. Melodies recall and vary earlier ideas, harmony reshapes its progressions, and the arrangement naturally builds, thins and opens out over time. Global controls let you change the density, movement, colour, human feel and overall shape without having to edit every part separately,

Every performance is a take. Create a new one to hear different musical decisions from the same setup, or lock a take when you find a piece you want to return to. You can still push a locked take in new directions by touching the pads, playing a column or changing its settings.
Ambient Architect can record the complete performance as a multitrack MIDI file, or let you drag individual parts straight into a sequencer. Pad changes, live touches, Mute and Solo, timing and velocity are all captured.
You can also take over the first Melody part using the built-in keyboard. Notes in the current scale are clearly marked, and anything you play is included in the MIDI recording.
