A heavy brass flywheel wired into a failing power supply. Throw it round by hand, let the motor drive it, or play it from a keyboard. Synth, effect and AUv3.
INERTIA is a spinning brass disk wired into a failing power supply.
Grab it and throw it round. The faster it turns, the harder it screams. Let go and it coasts down under its own weight, pitch sinking as it slows. Hold your finger on it and it brakes. Drag it backwards and the whole machine drops an octave and goes dark, the sound turning round the stereo field as the disk turns.
Spin it by hand. Switch on the MOTOR and set the RPM. Or play it from a MIDI keyboard and let the notes drive it.
- Flywheel physics with real weight and real coast- down
- Hand, motor or MIDI drive
- Reverse the spin for an octave down and a darker tone
- SHAKE: move the device while the disk spins and the sound wobbles, bends and rattles in real time. Switch on or off in settings
- Haptic knocks under your finger, harder as the disk speeds up (iPhone)
PLEASE NOTE: This app is designed for the iPad, labels will be difficult to read on an iPhone.
SIX SOUND MODES. 50HZ mains hum. O.C overclock. HI. high voltage. IND industrial. SHEP, an endless rising tone that falls when you spin it the other way. DET, a drifting detune. Stack as many as you like.
THE REST OF THE PANEL: FIELD and PITCH sliders, COIL, SLIP, DELAY and V.SAG voltage sag, GRIT for the dirty end, CHAOS throws every setting in the air and lets it land.
8 factory machines, an INIT patch, and unlimited presets of your own. The manual is built in. Tap the nameplate.
Features include:
- Standalone app, AUv3 instrument and AUv3 effect
- Works in AUM, Loopy Pro, Logic Pro for iPad and other AUv3 hosts
- Every control on fixed MIDI CCs 13 to 31. The mod wheel spins the disk
- Full host automation. Hand spins record straight into Logic
- The disk lets go when the host transport stops
