Tone Empire Release APX-351 V3

Tone Empire have released APX-351 V3, available at the intro price of $29.00, increasing to $59.00 after the promotion. The offer ends November 8th.

Modern digital recording is famously clean, precise, and transparent. Often, that is exactly the problem. Tracks recorded straight into an audio interface frequently lack the subtle weight, organic warmth, and cohesive depth that defined the golden age of analog production.

Tone Empire’s APX 351 addresses this exact challenge. Designed as an AI-driven reconstruction of a legendary American tape machine preamp, it captures the nonlinear behavior of Class-A triode tube circuitry and input transformers to restore retro character to your DAW.

What sets this processor apart is its balance between sophisticated modeling and effortless operation. Instead of forcing you through complex menus, it puts two distinct sonic personalities right at your fingertips.

Selecting the gentle mode introduces silky harmonic warmth that softens aggressive high frequencies and glues together acoustic instruments or mix buses.

Switching over to the intense drive mode pushes the vacuum tube circuit into rich harmonic saturation. This mode is ideal for injecting midrange punch into snare drums, bass lines, and synthesizers.

To maintain audio fidelity during heavy processing, built-in high-sample-rate oversampling eliminates digital distortion artifacts. Automated level compensation and dry-wet blending give you instant control over your signal balance.

Incorporating the plugin into your mix workflow is remarkably intuitive. Placing it at the very start of a channel strip allows you to treat raw digital audio as if it were tracked through a classic studio console.

Applied lightly to a vocal track, it smooths out sharp spikes so the performance sits naturally in the mix. Applied to drums or direct bass, it adds the low-end density and transformer grit needed to turn a clinical digital track into a finished record.

APX-351 V3 is available to PC and Mac users (VST3, AU and AAX).
