Studies is a plugin library consisting of two main components, Studies Effects for audio processing and Studies Instruments for MIDI devices, which focus on experimental sound techniques like granular resynthesis and tape decay.
The platform offers ten free devices that do not require an account or expiration, while a subscription service provides access to the full library of 60 devices, including automatic updates and new releases.
The user interface features a consistent signal-flow layout for all devices, a built-in browser, factory presets, and a unique ‘Jumble’ control for random patch generation to streamline the creative workflow.
Features include:
- Two plugins: Studies Effects (audio tracks) and Studies Instruments (MIDI tracks)
- A built-in browser: BROWSE or the ‹ › arrows move through the library without leaving your track
- Factory presets for every device, plus a ‘Jumble’ control for random patch generation
- Each device’s ? button opens its page in the Studies Handbook
- Your project saves the device, its preset and every setting
- Scalable window (the 100% menu)
Studies is available to PC and Mac users (VST2, VST3 and AU).
