Thrilled Groove
Piruz Labs has released Thrilled Groove, a free synthesizer plugin designed to emulate the sound of 80s horror-funk, reminiscent of Carpenter chase scenes and Stranger Things title cards.
The plugin features six intuitive macro controls – Rhythm & Movement (GROOVE), Horror & Tension (FRIGHT), Chorus & Shine (NEON), Attack & Impact (PUNCH), Reverb & Delay (SPACE), and Tape & Vinyl (AGE) – each with a distinct personality to guide users towards creating unique sounds without overwhelming parameter complexity.
Thrilled Groove offers three banks of presets categorized for different uses (Carpenter, Neon, Horror) and is available as a free, DRM-free download with optional beer donations to support future development, aiming to provide an emotional sound for every mood.
Synthimatic
Synthimatic is a free, forever visual synthesizer designed to help beginners understand sound synthesis by displaying real-time waveforms and spectrums as users adjust controls.
It features a simplified, visible signal path including two oscillators, a resonant filter, two ADSR envelopes, an LFO, and allows for both mono and polyphonic play, with starter presets to aid learning.
Guilt Device
The Guilt Device is a unique guitar effect plugin from Piruz Labs that manipulates sound to create a distorted memory of the original input, rather than a direct repetition.
Controlled by a single ‘Guilt’ knob, the effect integrates reverse delay, granular smear, pitch drift, ambience, damping, degradation, and collapse into a cohesive sonic experience, with six distinct modes to alter its character.
Piruz Labs offers a 14-day free trial for Mac and Windows, with the full version available for a one-time purchase of $39, and has also allocated 200 free licenses for content creators.
