PsychoPan is a groundbreaking psychoacoustic plugin that expands stereo sound beyond the traditional 2D left/right panning, offering control over depth, elevation, and front-to-back placement within a standard stereo stream.
Developed in collaboration with veteran sound designer Pan Athen and powered by the HyperSpatial™ framework, PsychoPan provides a tactile interface for creative control without complex acoustic measurements.
The plugin features an intuitive XY pad for seamless manipulation of perceived elevation and horizontal placement, incorporating Cinesafe guidelines for film and TV workflows, or allowing for expansive, ultra-wide effects.
PsychoPan’s Zone Module emulates spectral shifts to enable precise front-to-back sound separation, effectively differentiating sounds positioned in front of or behind the listener.
A dynamic Distance Slider, divided into five perceptual zones, intelligently controls simulated real-world distance attenuation through five independent micro-engines: Level Attenuation, Proximity Effect, Width Loss, Distant Diffusion, and the cinematic Big Freakin Event (BFE).
With real-time visual feedback, a zero-latency Safety Limiter, per-module bypass options, and flexible factory presets, PsychoPan offers producers a powerful and user-friendly tool for creating immersive 3D audio experiences.
