Jamstik has officially released LOON, a highly flexible new software instrument engineered for producers, composers, sound designers, and performing musicians. LOON aims to combine complex modern sound generation with a streamlined, intuitive workflow.
The backbone of LOON is its three-layer, multitimbral architecture. This layout gives creators three entirely independent signal paths to work with inside a single preset. Each layer functions as its own self-contained instrument—complete with dedicated synthesis, sampling, effects, and performance controls—allowing users to morph simple sounds into massive, richly layered sonic textures on the fly.
Though LOON was initially conceived to pair with Jamstik’s expressive MIDI guitar platform, its capabilities quickly expanded during development. The resulting instrument is built to serve keyboardists and electronic producers just as effectively as guitarists. Every one of the three layers blends subtractive synthesis, FM synthesis, sampling, advanced filtering, and a dedicated effects engine. Combined with full MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) support and six highly customizable macro controls, the software delivers deep, dynamic expressiveness right out of the box.
