Symbiotic Volume 2 continues the collaborative journey with a new collection of presets for Omnisphere 3.
Having met UK sound designer Tom Wolfe several times at Superbooth over the years, it felt natural to invite him to join me for the second chapter of Symbiotic. The result is an Omnisphere bank of 70 expressive presets – 55 crafted by Luftrum and 15 by Tom Wolfe – blending two signature approaches to sound design into one collection.
That is part of what makes a collaboration like this so interesting. Different ears, perspectives, and ways of shaping sound can bring subtle contrasts to a soundset – while still feeling connected by a common direction.
At the heart of Symbiotic Volume 2 is a quiet dialogue between the analog and the digital, the organic and the electronic. Some sounds feel rooted in earthly warmth, while others gaze outward into deep space, unfolding with a sense of endless depth, mystery and quiet wonder.
Natural soundscapes blend with expressive synth colors. Floating cosmic arpeggios sit over evolving pads, while analog synth keys bring a classic Vangelis-inspired feel to your chords and melodies. Most presets use modwheel and aftertouch to introduce movement, variation, and expression as you play.
Like the first volume, Symbiotic Volume 2 includes a separate bonus collection of 27 selected presets created using Omnisphere’s Mutation feature, expanding the Omnisphere bank with an additional set of sounds. You will also receive six high-resolution desktop wallpapers featuring the nebula cover artwork (see below) in various screen sizes to set the mood for your sessions.
Symbiotic Vol. 2 requires Omnisphere 3 (not included).
