Sick Noise Instruments have released Xenotact, available at the intro price of €29.00, increasing to €79.00 after the promotion.
Xenotact is a dual-layer granular instrument that allows users to transform any two WAV or AIFF audio files into complex soundscapes, pads, and cinematic atmospheres.
The software features a central HIVE XY matrix that enables real-time scanning and blending of samples, alongside specific functions like FREEZE for sustained tones, PARASITE for autonomous movement, and XENO for generating unique harmonic shifts.
Users can shape their sound through sixteen custom parameters such as density, grain size, pitch, and stereo width, with the ability to fully automate every control within their preferred digital audio workstation.
The instrument requires the full version of Kontakt 7.6 or newer and offers a highly interactive, animated interface designed for sound design, experimental music, and atmospheric texture creation.
Features include:
- Dual-layer granular engine. Two samples play at the same time, blended and scanned from a single XY pad.
- Drag & drop specimens. Drop your own WAV or AIFF files straight onto the interface. The length is detected automatically.
- Waveform screens with START / END markers and a live playhead, so you choose exactly which part of each sound the grains come from.
- FREEZE. Lock any moment into a sustained, frozen tone.
- PARASITE. The instrument plays itself, drifting through positions, grain sizes and scatter.
- XENO. Grains leap by octaves and fifths for strange, alien harmonics.
- RANDOM. One click gives you a brand new texture, always within musical ranges.
- Built-in FX chain. Resonant lowpass filter, delay (ECHO) and a large reverb (VOID).
- 16 sound-shaping controls: density, window shape, drift, pitch, warp, stereo width and more.
- Full DAW automation of every knob, switch, XY axis and marker.
- Fully playable. Up to 8 voices, transposes across the keyboard and holds notes with the sustain pedal.
