Audio Modeling have released PolySWAM, available for $399.00.
A new approach to expressive polyphony, designed to bring the expressiveness and performance realism of SWAM instruments into polyphonic orchestral sketching and live performance.
PolySWAM combines intelligent voice allocation, expressive control, and SWAM physical modeling in one playable instrument
PolySWAM brings the organic, responsive power of physical modeling into a dedicated polyphonic environment.
Unlike traditional sample libraries that rely on gigabytes of pre-recorded audio and tedious keyswitch programming, PolySWAM calculates instrumental behavior in real time. Developed alongside Latin GRAMMY-winning producer Emanuele Ruffinengo, it’s designed to bridge the gap between deep expression and real-time polyphonic playability.
Here is what makes it a game-changer for workflows:
- Intelligent Voice Allocation: A single preset can hold an entire acoustic ensemble. Its smart algorithms analyze your playing, distinguishing between chords and melodic lines to distribute notes across virtual players naturally.
- Zero Sampler Bloat: Because it relies entirely on physical modeling rather than sample playback, download sizes are tiny, and articulation switching happens dynamically based on your touch—no complex multi-track templates required.
- Dynamic Gestures & Legato: Whether you are playing fluid portamento lines, sharp staccatos, or rich chamber harmonies, the engine reacts fluidly to velocity, continuous expression, and MIDI controllers (like breath controllers or expression pedals).
- PolySWAM Scenes: This feature allows multiple versions of an ensemble configuration to live inside a single preset. You can instantly tweak room acoustics, spatial positioning, or mixer balances without reloading instruments.
