Tugrul Akyuz Releases TugAutomat – A FREE Download

Tugrul Akyuz has released TugAutomat, available as a FREE download. Donations are welcomed.

TugAutomat 1.0.1 is a generative sound plugin that creates experimental and unpredictable audio textures by self-sampling a chain of sound sources and feedback effects.

The instrument operates in two distinct stages where a continuous generation chain creates raw material recorded into a 20-second circular buffer, which is then manipulated by up to 16 MIDI-controlled voices.

Users can generate material using a variety of sources including noise, WAV files, mathematical formulas like the Superformula, and strange attractors solved at audio rate.

The plugin features a sophisticated output bus with ASR-10 style lo-fi effects, tempo-synced stutter, and various pitch modes that allow for both tonal musicality and chaotic glitch-based sound design.

Key interface elements include live signal monitoring, an informative window with seven pages of interactive diagrams, and four macro controls to adjust chaos, space, grit, and body during playback.

TugAutomat is intended for users interested in process-oriented sound design rather than predictable presets, offering a highly personalized and non-repeating sonic experience.

TugAutomat is available to PC and Mac users (VST3 and AU).
