Redshrike by iceWorks has been updated and is now available to MacOS (Silicon) users (previously iOS only). Redshrike is currently available for $9.99.
What’s new in version 2.7.0
- This app can now be installed on a Mac with Apple silicon and plugged into Garage Band, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and other AUv3 compatible host apps. It cannot be installed on Macs with Intel CPUs
- The method of displaying the control panel with basic parameters such as volume has been changed. It can be displayed from the knob icon button in the header. On the iPad standalone, it is still located to the left of the keyboard as before
- Other small fixes and improvements
Redshrike is a polyphonic synthesizer that combines a resonator designed to make more complicated sound creation and subtraction synthesis with a FM oscillator that creates distortion.
The oscillator has frequency modulation at a wide speed from low speed to the audible range, and it is useful for creating dirty sounds together with the resonator.
The waveform of the oscillator can be morphed from sawtooth wave to triangular wave and square wave. In addition, the oscillator has a 3-voice waveform generation engine internally, and you can make a thick sound by detuning it.
In the resonator, not only feedback amount, but also its pitch can be modulated with ENV and LFO.
The filter has a Low parameter that can boost the bass range, and you can make a heavy sound.
Redshrike supports Audio Unit Extensions (AUv3), so you can plug in to AUv3 compatible host. For each screen size, different layouts are designed to be easy to use and intuitive.
