David Hilowitz has released Bontempi Memoplay, a new Decent Sampler library, available as a FREE download.
The Bontempi Memoplay 26 was an extremely basic toy organ introduced in 1981. If you want to know more about it, you should definitely watch the video as I think it’s a lot of fun (see below).
The Memoplay’s sound consists of a simple, slightly glitchy pulse wave–a tone which I’ve capture both raw and using a dynamic mic. As is the custom around these parts, I’ve added many features that the actual keyboard doesn’t have: polyphony, an ADSR envelope, reverb, chorus, and a tone control.
